چکیده

The effect of drought stress on carbon metabolism in the leaves and roots bermudagrass was investigated. Plants established PVC tubes suffered from three water treatments for 10 days. C138 Tifway (drought-tolerant) were found to have lower relative electrical conductivity higher use efficiency than C32 (drought-sensitive) under moderate by increasing carotenoid soluble sugar content rapidly decreasing leaf starch content. sucrose synthase activity roots, acid invertase neutral substantially decreased severe drought, resulting a slow decomposition rate significantly fructose glucose contents Tifway. activities four enzymes greater those while contrary, indicating that transported obtained reduce damage. path analysis indicated activity, might be key parameter drought.

Effects of Cadmium Exposure on Growth and Metabolic Profile of Bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.]

Metabolic responses to cadmium (Cd) may be associated with variations in Cd tolerance in plants. The objectives of this study were to examine changes in metabolic profiles in bermudagrass in response to Cd stress and to identify predominant metabolites associated with differential Cd tolerance using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Two genotypes of bermudagrass with contrasting Cd toleranc...

Analysis of Natural Variation in Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon) Reveals Physiological Responses Underlying Drought Tolerance

Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon) is a widely used warm-season turfgrass and one of the most drought tolerant species. Dissecting the natural variation in drought tolerance and physiological responses will bring us powerful basis and novel insight for plant breeding. In the present study, we evaluated the natural variation of drought tolerance among nine bermudagrass varieties by measuring physio...

Contrasting Changes Caused by Drought and Submergence Stresses in Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon)

In this study, we investigated the mechanisms by which bermudagrass withstands the drought and submergence stresses through physiological, proteomic and metabolomic approaches. The results showed that significant physiological changes were observed after drought treatment, while only slight changes after submergence treatment, including compatible solute contents, ROS levels and antioxidant enz...

Formulation and Adjuvant Effects on Uptake and Translocation of Clethodim in Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon)

The effect of formulation and adjuvants on absorption and translocation of C-clethodim was determined at 1, 4, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h after treatment (HAT) in bermudagrass under greenhouse conditions. Absorption of C-clethodim with the 0.12 kg L (15 to 85%) formulation was higher than with the 0.24 kg L (5 to 40%) formulation, regardless of presence or absence of adjuvant. There was considerable ...

Antiarthritic activity of Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.

Cynodon dactylon (L.) (Poaceae) is traditionally used herb to treat fevers, skin diseases and rheumatic affections. The ethanolic extract of C. dactylon was found to be safe at all the dose levels (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg, orally) and there was no mortality up to the dose of 5000 mg/kg of extract when administered orally. C. dactylon showed significant antiarthritic activity against Freund's com...
